Acid Reflux
I have been on prescription meds for years for the treatment of acid reflux. My understanding is that these meds are for shortterm use only. Im trying to resolve this problem with natural remedies. Can you recommend anything that would assist with diminishing acid reflux symptoms?
Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice, also known as DGL is one of the
best natural remedies for acid reflux symptoms. This is a form of
licorice that has had one of its components removed which enhances its effect
on the GI system and reduces its ability to increase blood pressure
values. It works by stimulating your body to make more of the protective
coating that lines your stomach and esophagus to protect it from the
acid. Aloe Vera juice, slippery elm, mastic gum and marshmallow root are
also very helpful for acid reflux symptoms. They provide a soothing
coating that helps to reduce inflammation in the tissue and promote healing.
